BMW 3 Series

Are you looking for a 2011 BMW 3 Series?

Q: BMW 3 series coupe suggestions and comments from owners.?
I am planning on buying a bmw 3 series coupe next month.I want to get the 6 speed manual transmission and i chose this car because of the driving experience. I just wanted to confirm my choice by asking owners for their comments or suggestions on why this car is good or bad. Any information is appreciated.Thanks.

A: I own a 2006 325i coupe. and for me it is just fine for day to day driving. it isn’t “fast” but in manual it will be much more rewarding, mine is auto and a bit boring, even in sport mode. the 335 (if its in your budget) would be the most rewarding drive
if you get 19″ alloys expect it to effect ride quality. (you feel every bump on the road)
Black or silver will be best for resale
if you want a window tint, get it done elsewhere, you save $
oh and if your a music lover, upgrade the audio system, you will not regret it!

Q: What age do you have to be to drive a BMW 3 series before being pointed as spoiled? ?
im talking about the new ones, like from 04 to 08 BMW 3 series

coz i often hear ppl saying that kids around 16 to 20s driving a bmw are spoiled or pretendious and all that.

what age are you supposed to be to drive those cars?

i mean god forbid i have to be sucessful before i should buy one of those?

A: Once its affordable then its ok! Why consider them as spoiled! Cars were not meant to be driven by certain people… they are sold to the mass… and its a matter of personal choice/taste :-)

Q: How come there are lots of 2008 used (almost brand new) BMW 3 series ?
How come there are lots of 2008 used (almost brand new) BMW 3 series on used car website? I mean even BMW 5 Series too. Are there any problems with BMW 3 series? are BMW’s initial quality bad?

A: there was a problem with the 3 series especially the 335i with that cause a fuel pump failure.

many 3 series were affected and many people when to the dealer many times for the same problem.

some people people want it to lemon the car however what BMW do is that they buy back your car at about the same price that you buy it originally ( when you filled a lemon it damage the company reputation).

the problem is solve mow but it originally affects most if not all BMW with the new twin turbo engine 335i 535i

that’s why they are so many used on sale.

this cars will not be lemons they will show on the VIN that BMW north america buy them.

they have good deals

Q: Which is a more powerful car: The BMW 3 Series or the 2009 Toyota Camry?
I’m looking forward to buy a used car. I want good performance out of it, as well as reliability. I’m looking at these two for now:

The BMW Series 3
Toyota Camry

I think the 2009 Camry has ore horsepower than the BMW. Does more HP make a car “better”?
I’m looking at the BMW 328i

vs

Camry SE

A: of-course BMW 3 Series

Q: what is a the difference between a normal bmw 3 series, and the e9x?
my mate has the bmw 3 series e9x, its 2008, just wondered what the e9x represents?

A: What do you mean by normal 3 series?
The E9x IS a 3 series. Every 2008 3 series IS an E9x.
E90- sedan
E91- wagon
E92- coupe
E93- convertible

Previously, the 3 series was an E46, E36, E30 or E21, depending on what year it was made. Now there are four of them, but they are all still 3 series.
The E means Entwicklung, German for development. When a platform- such as the 3 series- goes through a major design change, it gets a new number.

Q: Would you buy a 2006 BMW 3 Series manual or automatic?
I personally don’t know how to drive stick, but i want to learn. I hear its easy to drive stick with practice. Now would you buy a BMW 3 Series manual or automatic. I hear most people don’t go stick with luxury cars they go stick for sporty cars. I don’t live in the city i live in the suburbs.

I am in the market for a used BMW 3-series. I heard that the 2003 models are among the most reliable for the 3 series. Is that true? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

A: No one can realy help you. All Bmws where made to last. I personally like anything from mid 80’s to early 90’s 3 series. Its all up to personal preference.

A: I own a 1997 BMW 318i, I purchased it new and I love BMW. It really is the ultimate driving machine, and I bought almost the cheapest one at the time. I had three problems with it all fixed under the warranty. Catalytic converter when out , the ignition switch broke and the brake lights switch also broke. They all happened in the first two years I had the car. After that, I have had no more problems with it. I still have it and love it. It still drives the same as the first day I took it out of the dealer, now it has 130K miles on it. Right now I drive a company car with everything pay for so I don’t need to buy a car, but I am keeping my BMW, and I am definitely buying another BMW next time I decide to buy another new car.

Q: What is the Average wait time for a BMW 3 series.?
I have booked my BMW 3 series here in Canada (328xi sedan to be precise) I would like to know what is the average wait time before I would be able to take delivery. I understand that the car comes from Germany.

A: It took my 328ci 7 weeks from Germany.

Good Choice in car.

Q: Which car is more reliable to maintain and own BMW 3-series or Audi A4?
I’ve heard some pros and cons of owning each and I was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions. Obviously I was told that the 2000 A4 was considered as a money pit and BMW parts on a 1998 3-series are hard to find.

I hope to get some input before looking at finding which pre owned car would be worth owning.

A: Both cost about the same to maintain, get whichever you prefer. As to the person talking badly about the e36 3 series, complete bullsh*t. I had a 98 328is, and it was very reliable, and cheap to maintain. These cars are getting more and more easy to get parts for. because they are now two chassis models ahead of the e36, you can get parts, even whole part cars for very cheap compared to this time last year. I wish I had kept mine, it’d be much cheaper to maintain than the M5…
As for Audi, it’s a great car, not as sporty, but more luxurious. AWD is a plus too. My girlfriend loves her A6, but she’s run into a few problems (you will with any car, regardless of sticker price) with the electrics. Bulbs not working even when they’ree brand new, cig lighter not working (for hooking up GPS), and dash lights flickering. But she still wouldn’t trade it for the world, and I’m the same way about my BMW’s. Sometimes you find loyalty with a certain car brand, but you can’t let that cloud your judgment. Find which one you like more, and buy it. I am 20, and pay my way for everything, including car maintenance, insurance, and gas, yet I drive a European luxury car. if you’re gonna pay for a car, get one you love driving everyday.

Q: How much for a 2007 bmw 3 series?
I’m looking for a new bmw 3 series sedan. I want it to be the metallic grey (the dark grey), and i want everything to be all base. Do you think i can find the exact car i want on the lot or do u think i would have to order it? Will it cost more if i have to order it? And how much do u think the car would be w/o tax, and how much w/ tax ( i live in New Orleans btw). For the people who owns a 2007 3 series sedan, can you tell me how much u got it for w/o tax?

A: about $56,000

Q: How much will maitaining a 2006 BMW 3-Series cost?
How much will i pay for maitaining a 2006 BMW 3-Series per year?
In average.
How much will i pay for maitaining a 2006 BMW 3-Series per year?
In average.

EXCLUDE the GAS & INSURANCE cost.
just the car maitaining fee.

A: Most of the dealers have a prepaid maintenance plan available. Mine covers 2 years and up to 100,000 miles for $1500. That includes oil service (115) (4 times so far) new brakes and rotors all around (1000) and AC maintenance evaporator replacement (680). Not to mention wiper blades at (30) ea and bulbs. The also flushed and filled cooling and brake systems. Almost forgot the serpentine belt and hoses as scheduled. Turns out to be a great deal! Pluss if it is in the first 48 months/ 50,000 miles it is free!

Q: The pros and cons of a used BMW 3-series?
Hey everyone, I just need a little help when it comes to buying a used car. I hope to eventually buy a used bmw 3-series (no older than 2003). My friend says not to do this because it is expensive to maintain and that brakes and other items are rather pricey. Is this true and would it be best to go to a private mechanic for repairs. I know nothing about buying used cars and any additional tips and information would be great. Thanks

A: Your friends know about expensive brakes but don’t let your “friends” scare you into NOT buying a BMW if thats what you want.

You should have the income, job, career to handle a BMW, because once you do, sure parts and big maintenance can be pricey, but its relevant to what you do, your finances.

I’m going to copy-paste a Y! Answer I gave a young lady about buying a first time BMW, here goes:

If you buy a well maintained BMW from responsible, mature owners you’ll be fine. Yes, the make is great for teens or older as a first CART … because its got better safety rating. I as a parent would look into those and encourage my teen to think safety and real driving first, knowing how to drive and handle a BMW in any situation is key.

Your parents should be wary of maintenance costs. BMW can be pricey to fix because of their quality and intricacies. Something may need upgrading just as a maintenance like suspension, fuel pumps, radiators, thermo’s, shocks, etc.

I recommend really searching for a BMW that was owned by responsible people/owner with maintenance proof, not a BMW douched up by other teens or posers who may have tampered with the car to “mod” or “tune” it.

I’d also recommend a 3 series, and telling your parents you’ll help, half or quarter ways on any maintenance costs. You should at least start also being responsible and making sure YOU take care of basic stuff like oil changes, which you should do AT 3,000 no exceptions, fuel/petrol, … etc.

One last tip as I’ve noticed this so much in the used BMW market and a HUGE mistake by newbs getting into the BMW way of driving – if the car over heats, always glance at that gauge, stop the car. Do NOT drive it one bit after it goes beyond the center mark or in the red. Do NOT attempt to let it cool down and drive it again. Just call a towing company, have it towed to a BMW specialist and or German car shop/garage. No exceptions.

One last tip – resist the urge to mod/tune it. But go OEM on parts, especially brakes and German replacement part names like Bilstein, Meyle, etc.

ENJOY!

Q: What Car Is More Reliable; A newer Cavalier or a 95 BMW 3-series?
2000 to 2002 Cavalier with under 200,000 K or a 95 BMW 3-series with 200,000 K

A: with those mileages probably the bmw although that is not a guarantee.
