Q: Can I use unleaded gas on a BMW 7 series 05 model?
Meaning can you use regular unleaded gas instead of Super. What effects if any would this have on the car?

A: yes, i don’t even think they still put lead in gas.

Q: What movie is this with the BMW 7 Series and the girls who look like models…?
So there’s this movie that my friends and I have been trying to figure out (fairly recent… within the past 5 years i think). In this movie there’s some Russian models/girls who rob a bank or something and they drive off in a 7 series BMW… they pull over under an under pass and change clothes and then they tear the paint off of the BMW and make it another color and they change the plates and everything… at some point in the movie someone shoots at the tire and it turns out the car has run flat tires… i can’t remember anything else! Help?

Q: How much does it cost to replace the engine and transmission mounts in a 96 bmw 7 series?

Q: Is it a big job to replace the Carrier Case of a rear center axle in a 96 BMW 7 Series?
The exterior case looks rusty and filled with corrosion. I think the actual piece costs $800; but how much time does it take to replace?

A: It’s easy if you do that sort of thing all the time, and have a lift like I do. If the outside is rusty don’t worry, it is supposed to look like that, and that’s how the replacement will look after it gets wet.

If you just have extra money that you have to dispose of before the divorce, bring it to my shop. I’ll glass bead the part, an give it a fresh coat of paint. $800

Q: Is there a door release somewhere in the trunk of my 1992 bmw 7 series?
My doors are stuck in lock position…and i don’t want to break a window to get in as i was told i would have to do!

A: Yep. On the E32 BMW, you can turn the key hard counterclockwise while pulling up on the handle. The driver’s side lock should come up. That’s the way the factory manual tells you to get in the car if the battery is dea.

Q: Do all BMW 7 series e65 come standard with angel rings?
Because I realized on mine that the rings on the outer side don’t light up at all and the inner rings don’t look exactly round, but literally every other 7 series I see have angel rings. Have my bulbs gone or what? PLEASE HELP

A: Bulbs could be burnt out, socket could be defective. Corona ring element could also be broken.

Q: When will the new BMW 7 series come out?
Hi all,
Just wondering should it start coming out this fall. Also, will it most certainly go for full sticker? i know that the people who buy these cars don’t care about paying extra, but will it be possible to get any where near invoice say around March/April 2009? I mean the current economy really sucks so I was just wondering.

Q: when are they going to change the body style on the BMW 7 Series?
I really want to buy one, but I dont want to get screwed if they change the body style in a year or so. thatll make me feel like crap spending that much money. someone help.. also if anyone knows any websites where you can find out when new models are going to come out.

A: I have a 2000 740il and it is so much nicer looking than the bulkier 745Li (2002-2004). The current 750 is selling well and is only 2 years out there so it could be another 2-3 years before a major change is seen. my car’s model was sold pretty much the same style from 1996 thru 2001.

Q: Is it an easy repair to change the lower oil pan on a 96 bmw 7 series? How long does it take to do?

A: From my experience working on German cars, this should be pretty easy to do. I put a pan on a VW Jetta and it took all of 10 minutes once the oil was drained out. German cars are very well thought out and the maintenance is normally very simple to complete. If you’ve ever done any work on cars before it shouldn’t be hard.

Q: I was looking For a 1995-1999 BMW 7 series and was wondering if it was reliable?
I am wondering if it is reliable and if all the systems work (electrical, tranny, suspension, etc/)

A: Only my opinion, 7 series E38 BMWs are the worst BMW they every created. M60 engine is also BMWs one of the worst engine.

That duel exhaust pipe system alone is going to cost you minimal of $1500/yr to replace the 4 Oxygen sensors and 2 Cat converters to top shop just to pass the emission.

Tranny is “lifetime” ZF transmission. Their life time is actually “Last until warranty expires”. Need to flush these at 70K miles for (1995) and every 100K for other years.

The H frame rear subframe requires bushing requirement every 100K miles, and you have 4 of them!!! They require a special tool and entire rear subframe must be lowered. Not too many mechanic can handle this job.

If you want reliable BMW, try anything with M50 series of engine (2 . 3L 3 series, 5 series) Leave the 7 series to people who can afford the repairs.

Q: I backed up into a BMW 7 series and the owner claimed that i broke the front parking sensor.?
I barely tapped the gas and the damage didnt look significant i think hes lying so that i can pay for his front sensor. Does anyone know how easy or hard it is to break a parking sensor?

A: i dont have that car, i have a merc with parking sensors, and the handbook says they are very sensitive -
so yeh you could have easliy bust it

but don’t pay up without making sure

Q: How easy is it to connect an amp to a bmw 7 series business steroe system as wana fit a sub in the boot?
The car is a 1998 728i with cd autochanger in the boot

A: 7 series are NOT easy cars to work on. It does depend what year you are talking about. a lot of the disassembling of the vehicles interior parts and panels are much more complicated than most vehicles, to add to this there is very little room to run wires etc… you will most likely have to gain access to the factory amp in in the trunk order add a line out converter, and this would also be easier than pulling the radio and running the wires back to the trunk. If this is a DIY kinda thing it would be best to take it to a shop.
