Chevrolet Impala

Are you looking for a 2010 Chevrolet Impala?

Q: how do i fold down 2004 chevrolet impala back seats?
i have a 2004 chevrolet impala with a 60/40 split for the backseats. I need to get to my amp in the back and this involves folding the back seats down? i looked and have no clue?!

A: Pop the trunk and look for the seat back release mechanisms – located in front, and near the top of the trunk space – you should see two pulls – one for each split. Pull, then push the seat down. You shouldn’t need to hold them as you push. Just pop and go.

Q: Does the 2006 Chevrolet impala ss have bluetooth?
i would like to have a car with this and am intrersted in the 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS. Does it have it?

A: No. I have an ‘08 Impala SS and it has OnStar with Personalized Calling (which I have to purchase minutes to use), but it doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities. You can also use your iPod with the radio.

Q: Is a 2006 Chevrolet Impala an appropriate car to “blast” polka music on the radio?
I am wondering if this is like some of those people who drive Buick LeSabres or such and “blast” rap music at stoplights and such; the music doesn’t match the car.

I am absolutely enamored with polka, and I only hope that polkas match my 2006 Chevrolet Impala. If not, what sort of car matches polkas?

A: that chevy impala should be great for any kind of music. their big cars, they have a big trunk space so you can put your subwoofers inside, and you can have a nice surround sound because of all the room you have inside. so I don’t think there is anything that could be better than your impala. enjoy the music.

Q: Where can I buy a brand new transmission and brand new motor for my 2002 chevrolet impala? Fresh out the box?
I want to put a brand new motor (3.8) and a brand new on my 2002 impala, is there a website or a place in houston tx that specializes in manufacturing brand new engines and transmissions?

A: NAPA auto parts
Jasper engines
those are the best 2 places that I trust
there are many others, but i only deal with the 2 above

Q: will the chevrolet impala change to rear wheel drive (zeta platform) for 2010 model?
Driver of a 2008 chevrolet impala

curious to see what will happen when my lease will be up

maybe a GM/Chevrolet Engineer has a concrete answer?

A: I’m not sure its been officially announced but it really looks that way.

Currently its built on the old W-body platform along with the Grand Prix, a few Buicks, and Monte Carlo. The Monte was canceled for low sales and the Grand Prix was replaced by the G8 which is on the Zeta platform. The plant they were made it is being converted over to build the Zeta platform. I cant seen them spending the money to move production somewhere else on a 20 yr old platform that is only used for 1 car.

Q: Where is the horn on a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LS?
I finally sold my toyota avalon and i took out the aftermarket compression horn I had installed. Now I want to put it in my 2008 Impala and I can’t find where the stock horn is hooked up! It’s got a complicated layout under the hood and i was hoping to find someone who can tell me how to get to the horn (which seems to be near the battery/behind the fuse box) help anyone?

A: The horns are behind and below the pass. side headlamp assembly. 2 horns bolt to a bracket. The headlamp assembly will need to come out to access.

Q: Installing my Kenwood DDX512 radio in my 2004 Chevrolet Impala?
I already have removed the factory stereo from my 2004 Chevy Impala and now having difficulty on which wires go to which. I havent been able to get the radio to work. Thanks!

A: your best bet is go to the place which sold you the deck and ask them for a guide or advice or even wiring harness that hooks into the stock wires

Q: Could Chevrolet Impala hubcaps fit on a Lumina?
Could hubcaps from a 2000 2008 Chevrolet Impala fit on a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina?

A: If the wheels are the same size, they should fit.

Q: 2008 Chevrolet Impala speedometer needle sticking?
I have a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and the speedometer needle has been sticking sometimes and at other times it has been I guess you could say flickering. Sometimes the car seems like it jerks a little and then the needle will start working but then flicker again. It may do this for like a day, but then it will work normal for weeks sometimes. Anybody have any ideas what may be causing this?

A: HI!

You have NO Cable to operate your Speedometer. it is all electronic ( and i do not mean digital ! ) The Speed Sensor could not be at fault for this type of Problem either!

I have seen this Many Many times in Chevy , Gmc , Buick , Pontiac Etc vehicles. They even will warranty the cluster thru the dealership!!

The Problem lies in the Speedometer Cluster. These Clusters made after 2000 have Stepper Motors to drive ALL the gauges including the SPEEDOMETER ! The Tachometer and Speedometer are the Most prone to failure as they are used the most!

It is best to have the Instrument Cluster Removed and Repaired or Replaced. A junkyard Replacement is ok but make sure you get a guarantee.

I pull at least one cluster a week and repair them for this same sort of problem!

I would charge $100 to repair the cluster plus shipping.

I guarantee my work for 2 years.

I hope this helps Good Luck!

Q: Where can I buy a 1964 Chevrolet Impala convertible on the internet?
Please list some websites – it does not matter if the car is broken down but all that matters is if it is a convertible and not a super sport, I don’t want the convertible super sport.
EBAY DOES NOT HAVE IT

A: eBay! -

Q: How do you remove the wiper switch on a 66 Chevrolet impala?
Does it unscrew anywhere? I have the push button bit out but can’t get the rest out. Should the Electriacal conection part just pop off?
SHould the black electrical connector part which is part of the switch pop off with the wiring or should that stay firmly fixed to the switch?

A: Yeah, the black plastic connector stays with the wiring. There is usually a latch to help keep it attached to the switch that you will have to pry back, and they often break when they’re that old.

As far as the switch being held in, I don’t remember too well. There may be a spring steel retaining clip behind the dash if there’s no bezel on the front. Look (or feel) for a tang that is pulled away from the switch.

If it has a bezel, that looks kind of like a nut, but with little notches in it, instead of 6 sides. There are special tools for many of those, or sometimes a long needle-nose pliers will work. Turn counter-clockwise like a nut.

Q: How do you replace the power steering pump in a 2003 Chevrolet Impala?
My power steering pump is making a clicking noise when idle, and gets a little louder when I drive. I came to find out that it was the power steering pump going bad. The fluid level is normal. I just replaced my water pump and alternator and now this went bad 300 miles later. How is this removed, and replaced? Is it a difficult procedure? And how much time will it take?

A: Not too difficult.
Move the washer reservoir out of the way and take off the belt and you can get to the 3 mounting bolts through the holes in the pulley. Then you have a pressure line and a return line to disconnect and the pump is out.
You will need a special tool to remove the pulley from the old pump and install it on the new one. Check with your parts store to see if they have a tool rental program or take both pumps to a local shop and ask for a little help. Most of the time you’ll find a mechanic that will swap the pulley for free but it wouldn’t hurt to tip him a few bucks.
Best of Luck!

Q: How to reset the tire position on a 2007 chevrolet Impala?
I tried until the point where You press the check button and the horn honks twice.

A: There is a special tool to activate the tire pressure monitoring sensors so the controller can identify which tire is where. The special tool is actually a big magnet, such as is found in a 6×9 speaker.
Get to the point where the horn beeps twice , then hold the magnet on each tire until the horn chirps once, then move on to the next one, starting with the l/front, then r/front, then r/rear then l/rear. After ALL the sensors give a chirp, it should then beep twice after you get the chirp from yhe left rear.if any sensor doesn’t chirp within 15 seconds, start over.
Hold the magnet right on the tire valve.

Q: How much would it cost to convert my 2006 Chevrolet Impala to the Batmobile?
It’s green…so, I will need to pay for a paint job.

A: you buy the sheet metal and the beer and I’ll do it for free

Q: What controls the speedometer on a 2006 Chevrolet Impala LT?
Mine started acting strange today. I was going about 20 mph then it jumped to 40, then down to 0, but I was still going 20. The tachometer showed 900 rpms but I know it was going faster.

>>I don’t want to hear anything about how much better those stupid honda and toyota cars are<< Just an answer.

A: The instrument cluster (new name for speedometer) gets its information from the PCM (engine computer). It sends the digital data along a data bus up to the panel. There are a few TSBs on the panel and the wiring harness. If it’s still under warranty, contact Chevy. If you’re going to tackle this yourself, get copies of the TSBs.
