Are you looking for a 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Q: I have a 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse and i think my fuel relays are bad. When I connect the battery and ohmmeter t?
I have a 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse and i think my fuel relays are bad. When I connect the battery and ohmmeter to the relay its suppose to indicate zero continuity but it is indicating .02 and .05. Are these relays bad?

A: Infinite resistance is displayed in the form of O.L. on most multimeters, this means that the relays are blown, i.e., no contact between any of them. Any form of resistance such as your .02 Ohms and .05 Ohms means that there is some for of resistance within the relay, this indicates, assuming the Ohms are at the correct setting if you’re not using an auto-ranging multimeter, that the relays are good, since there will always be some form of resistance in a circuit.

Q: What are the best tires for a Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I’m on a tight budget, so I can’t afford a lot. But I’m wondering, for the money (lowest possible) what are the best brand & type of tires for all season? Of course I’m especially interested for the winter.

A: go to sears.com they will tell you your oprions. You can also call Kraegen or autozone to find out. Good luck!!

Q: What is the best engine upgrade to do to a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I know nothing about cars but there’s just an empty feeling when I drive. Not enough power. I drive a 4 cylinder Mitsubishi Eclipse and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on how i could soup it up a little.

A: What is the engine code for the engine currently? If its a 4G63 that’s great! Theres many things you can do to 4 bangers and get power, I’ll give you a list.

1st. CAI (Cold Air Intake)

2nd. Short Shifter (If its manaul) btw it gives you better shifting times!

3rd. One of the best upgrades would be a turbo considering if you do it right you don’t want to take shortcuts if you go the turbo route as it can cause many problems.

4th. Buy some better internals, for example, Forged (Turbo/Nos), dome or flatop. You could also probably bore the engine out and possibly run a stroker kit.

5th. Exhaust, many people call 4 bangers with big mufflers (Fart Cans) but what they don’t know it actually increases your HP and gives you better exhaust flow, the more restrictive the exhuast flow the less power you will make. Don’t just throw a muffler on there though and expect much of a difference get full exhaust (Headers, Piping, and muffler, also make sure to run a cat if you want to pass emessions.)

6th. Spark plugs and wires, I prefer a set of NGK Plugs and Wires (Best).

On a side note if you go the turbo route and stick to stock internals don’t ever overboost it which would cause you to grenade your engine, in other words no engine no car ;) . Also get it tuned right you would like to make it reliable as possibly and free up some hp and tq.

Hope this gives you some help

Just a word of advice to if you want respect from follow eclipse enthusiasts never ever throw a spoiler on there, the stock one is just fine :D . That’s considered ricey, FWD has no purpose for a wing, :p.

Q: I want more horsepower out of my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, where should I start?
I just bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS and I love it. I would like to add some more HP to it though over the next few months. I don’t want to spend a huge amount of money and I wouldn’t do any of the work myself. I also don’t want to mess with the look of the car as I like the way it looks stock. So where should I start and what’s the best bang for my buck at the lower levels? Thanks for any input.

A: By selling it, and starting with a GST, or GSX.

Ultimately, that IS your best bang for the buck.

You’re starting with one of the lowest versions of the Eclipse, and the few cheap things you can do to it, won’t improve your horsepower much at all. In the end, to get up to the level of a stock GST, you’ll spend more than if you had gotten that car in the first place.

Q: How many mile to the gallon does a Mitsubishi Eclipse get?
What is the min-max that I should pay for a 97′ Mitsubishi Eclipse? Is the car a reliable one? First car so I need lots of opinions please.

A: The fuel economy is about 20 mpg for city driving and around 30 mpg for highway, or a combined of 26.

You would look to pay anywhere between $2500 (high miles needs a little work)-$5000 (near perfect condition, minimal miles).

Q: what is the best transmission fluid for a Mitsubishi eclipse?
i want to make sure i use the right transmission fluid for my mitsubishi eclipse gt.

A: not sure what year or type of tranny. But most Mitsubishi cars call for diamond tranny fluid that is a genuine Mitsubishi fluid

Q: How to make my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT the fastest?
My goal is to make my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT the fastest I can with out adding an turbo or supercharger. The only problem is I dont know how? I all ready added a new intake (short ram air, top of line). But dont know what else to added?

A: At this stage, the cheapest thing to do is to remove parts.
Remove the rear of the interior; seats, paneling, trunk items; spare tire, jack, carpeting, paneling.
Remove rotational mass from the engine; air conditioning compressor, power steering pump. You’ll have to get a different serpentine belt for this though.
Use a thinner, fully synthetic oil. 5W-30 Mobil 1 should be fine, but don’t get an oil thinner than that for the summer months.
Port the throttle body with a Dremel tool and some fine grain sand paper around 200 grit.
Make sure your tires are properly inflated to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification for the appropriate amount of road contact and tire wear.
Add Water Wetter to the coolant and replace your existing thermostat with a fail-safe 180* thermostat.
Those are the cheap routes. Now is on to the relatively costly modifications.
Replace your exhaust system with a larger bore system. Remove the catalytic converter (if it doesn’t have an O2 sensor in it, which I believe it does) or replace it with a high flowing catalytic converter. Remove the resonator as well. Basically going 3″ straight back from the catalytic converter.
Replace the headers with higher-flowing headers.
If you want a lot more power, you’ll have to go with one or two turbochargers. That’s the deal when building a vehicle. Turbochargers produce the most horsepower per dollar in comparison to building a naturally aspirated vehicle.

Q: Is a 2006 mitsubishi eclipse a good car to buy?
going to buy my first car, is a mitsubishi eclipse good?
what kind of problems were there?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: Are the 1991 mitsubishi eclipse and the 1993 compatible with parts?
Are the parts copatible or interchangeable between a 1991 and a 1993 mitsubishi eclipse? The major parts that i am wondering about are the motor and tranny.

A: Yes, engine parts are for sure compatible with each other. 1994, is when they started making minor changes to the car, and 1995 they made it a 7 bolt.

Q: How much would fixing a hole in a piston of a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible how much would it cost to fix a hole in a piston? I would be doing it by hand, so how much would the piston cost and fixing it?
Thanks, I see now. Um honestly to say I was going to buy the car, but if it has this much I have to do and it will cost more then the car itself I’ll save my money and buy a better one.

A: Honestly more than the car is worth. It is not just the piston but bearings, rings, gaskets, fluids, Head evaluation

Q: How to change transmission oil on mitsubishi eclipse 2000 ?
Hey! I want to change the transmission oil on my automatic 2000 mitsubishi eclipse GT
(6 cylinder ) . Do I just drain the oil from the drainer and put in new transmission oil, if so please tell me how many quarts to put, and of what brand.

Other Questions: 1) Is there a filter to be changed
2) I have located the drainer under the car, but don’t know where to put the new oil.

Please help! Thank you for your time

A: i own a repair shop, and you have to drain the pan ,and then drop the pan off,and change the filter on it also, and put a new gasket back on it, there’s more to it than it sounds like, but take your time, and don’t over tighten the bolts on the pan,it will leak if you do,,good luck i hope this help,s.

fu** a shelby mustang

A: I don’t agree with Vipassan. I had a GS eclipse with a tsudo catback exhaust system and aftermarket header, and it sounded pretty damn nice…really nice deep low tone to it…Oh and the tsudo catback exhaust system I got was made for 2ndGen eclipses…so i had to cut and weld stuff together (don’t trust ebay, all i got to say), and i had OBX ceramic coated header…please don’t get OBX, worst quality brand I have ever seen…I ended up selling the car a few months ago and got a Neon SRT4. I LOVE the sound to it stock>>>

Q: How do you install a transmissionm in a ‘95 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
Where is the trans on a ‘95 Mitsubishi Eclipse and how to you drop and re install one?

A: Go buy a repair manual. This question is not something you can give an answer to on a site like this and if you need to ask where the transmission is then I would question your ability to remove and reinstall it.
