Q: How do you connect an iPod to a 2008 Acura MDX?
We have the tech/entertainment package, and I read that the aux input is “behind” the center console for that package combination. I looked in the back seat (which seems really inconvenient) and saw red/white/yellow inputs, but I think that is for the DVD player (like for playing video games). I don’t see anything inside the center console except the power outlet and I don’t see an AUX input anywhere near the radio/nav controls. Thanks!
A: Unfortunately, the “DVD” player hookup (Yellow/Red/White) is the only “easy” way to wire your ipod into the MDX audio system. Because you bought the tech/entertainment, they replaced the “AUX” input with the 3 wire solution. They also retired the Acura based ipod link because people complained so much about it. Your only other options are: get an FM Modulator ( I’ve had good luck with DLO’s solution) OR a system that replaces the XM radio connection. I’ve not tried the latter, but am researching that myself. Good luck!
Q: My mom has an Acura MDX with hands-free cell. How do you maintain a call when you leave the car?
She is hands-free in the car when talking on her cell. When she gets out of the car, she does not know how to not lose the call when she turns the engine off. She has to continually call people back when getting out of the car. Is there any way to maintain continuity with the call and the hands-free in the car?
A: I have a tsx, and if it’s the same, you press the talk button and say “transfer”.
Q: 2007 Acura MDX Comfort button and AUX Jack?
I was just wondering, why doesn’t my acura mdx have a comfort button even though theres pictures on sites of a comfort button on the 2007 model. And where is the aux jack on the mdx?
A: The Comfort button instantly switches the magneto-rheological dampers to a softer setting. With it off, it has sport-tuned dampers, which gives you a much stiffer ride and better handling, etc. I personally leave my comfort button on almost all of the time in my ‘09 MDX sport. The AUX jack is located in the front part of the armrest. You need a 3.5mm male to male jack in order for your mp3/ipod to work… and push the AUX button on your stereo for it to work. Q: What are the differences between the 2004 and 2005 models of the Acura MDX?
I was recently in a car accident with my 2005 MDX, and have been looking for a new car since. I saw a certified used 2004 MDX SUV for a good deal, but I was wondering if there will be a big downgrade from the ‘05 to the ‘04 model.
Does anyone know the safety/design differences between the new car? Does the ‘04 model have the same headlights/rear lights (the ‘05 have a silver tint which is a big bonus for me, I like the futuristic elements of it)

Q: How do you change the revesrse lights on a 2005 Acura MDX?
Does the tail light come out? OR Do I need to remove the inside paneling?
A: you should either be able to get to it by undoing some screews either facing the back or screws facing the front of the car,
if they are facing the front -can’t see them facing back then you will have to take the trim off and have a scrurage around to find the connectors.
if it’s on the boot then it’s the same but they face the front and you will have to take the trim off of there to find it
guessing you’d know how to disconnect the connectors for the lights… just twist them

I just saw the new commercial for the Acura MDX on comedy central and I was wondering what the song was playing in the song. Q: How do you find and reset the code for the radio in a 2001 Acura MDX?
It’s not on the rear door handle of this truck. I bought it used and the handle may be after market or if it was on paper it may have eroded, but there is no number now.
A: Try this. turn the radio on and make sure you see “code” on the display. Turn radio off. Hold down preset numbers 1 and 6 and turn on radio without letting go of buttons. You will see the letter U with 4 digits then it will switch to the letter L with another 4 digits. Write down these digits starting with the first set.(ignore the U and L).This is your serial number. Go to a dealership, give them the serial number and ask them if they can look up the radio code for you.(5 digit number). More than likely they won’t charge you as long as you ask nicely and show proof of vehicle ownership.Then just enter the code in the radio using preset numbers. They usually charge if they have to manually look up the serial number for you as well as the radio code and type it in for you.
Q: I own a 2003 Acura MDX, and the display is in Kilometers instead of miles. How do I change it back?
The display where it tells me my gas milege and range is in KIlometers instead miles.. I have pushed and tried every button and can’t figure out how to change it back…. Does anybody know?

I haven’t been able to find much info online, and there is no way I’m paying the dealership to do this. I suppose I could go outside and mess around with the light until I figure it out, but I live in MI and it’s so COLD out there!

A: auto zone or advance will change the bulb for you free if you buy it off of them.
Q: Does Acura MDX 09 elite come with headphones?
I just bought a 2009 Acura MDX elite (Canadian). Does it come with wireless headphones (for the rear dvd entertainment system)? If so where is it?
cuz when we bought it, the dealer says it has everything in the technology package plus blah blah blah. The technology package has headphones, but i can’t find it in elite.
A: you’re asking in the US..it’s against the law to wear headphones in a vehicle here…you might wanna scroll down to the Canadian flag and ask there or call Acura, Canada, toll free.
Q: how much should i pay for 2006 acura MDX touring and how much should i pay for a 2006 jeep commander limited?
i like both cars… but im not sure which one to get and how much to pay for.. i dont want to go the dealer and pay too much for it..
for the 2006 MDX touring i have a offer of 34g and for the JEEP i have a offer of 35g … which one is a bettter deal and do u think i can get a better price on it?
A: Get the Acura, the Jeep really has nothing at all going for it except a Hemi that sucks gas to the tune of 12mpg. The dealer probably is willing to work on the price of the 06 Acura as the 07 is a redesign. So 34k for an Acura seems good. The Acura is also regarded as a premium SUV and the Jeep is basically the box the Cherokee came in. The Acura will also hold it’s value a good deal longer and will actually take a curve without feeling like it will tip over. Acura’s also have excellent reliability ratings, and if past vehicles are determing factors, the Jeep will be nothing special.
Q: How Long does a Acura MDX Last?
Consider the year models 2005, 2006, 2007. It will be a big help if you answer it.
A: Depends how well you take care of it. Use synthetic oil and change it every 3000-5000 miles. Keep your air filter clean and change it as needed- usually every 10000-15000 miles. Do your preventative maintenance including coolant flush, transmission fluid change, etc. It can last a long time if you take care of it.
